La Candelaria, Monserrate & Zona T

Bogota's greatest hits in a single packed day 10km

🎨

Graffiti Walking Tour

09:00 · 2 hrs La Candelaria20.000 COP ($5)

Start with the Bogota Graffiti Tour (tip-based). A fast-paced walk through La Candelaria's best murals with an artist guide. You'll cover the political and cultural backstories behind the most iconic walls in about two hours.

Join the 9am or 10am English tour at Parque de los Periodistas. Arrive 15 minutes early — it fills up.
🏛️

Museo del Oro (Gold Museum)

11:30 · 1 hr La CandelariaFree

Speed-visit the world's largest gold museum. Head straight to the third floor — the darkened room where 8,000 gold pieces light up around you is the highlight. 55,000+ pre-Colombian artifacts total.

If you only have an hour, skip the ground floor and go directly to floors two and three.
🏛️

Museo Botero

12:45 · 30 min La CandelariaFree

A quick loop through Fernando Botero's round, voluminous masterpieces plus donated works by Picasso and Dalí. It's a small museum — you can see the highlights in 30 minutes. Free entry, always.

⛰️

Cerro de Monserrate

14:30 · 2 hrs Monserrate21.000 COP ($5)

Take the teleférico (cable car) to 3,152m for a panoramic view over the entire Bogota basin. There's a church and a few restaurants at the summit. Time it so you're up there as the afternoon light softens — the city sprawl is staggering from above.

Do NOT walk the trail — it has persistent safety issues. Take the cable car or funicular. Lines are shorter on weekdays.
🍽️

Zona T Dinner & Evening

18:00 · 2 hrs Zona T

End the day in Bogota's upscale dining and nightlife district. The T-shaped pedestrian zone is safe, well-lit, and packed with restaurants. A proper Colombian dinner and maybe a craft beer is the ideal way to close out a one-day blitz.
