- Bogota doesn't have traditional seasons — it has dry and rainy periods. Temperature barely changes year-round (14-18°C). Mornings are coolest (10-12°C), afternoons warmest (17-20°C).
- The 'best' time is December-February and July-August (dry seasons). But Bogota is a year-round destination.
- 'Rainy days' in Bogota means afternoon showers (typically 2-4pm), not all-day rain. Mornings are usually clear — schedule outdoor activities early.
- Always carry a light rain jacket or poncho (available everywhere for 5-10k COP) regardless of month.
- Book 2-3 weeks ahead for December travel. Hotel prices can 2-3x during Christmas week.
- Most museums close on Mondays. Plan your museum day for Tuesday-Saturday. Museo Botero is always free; Museo del Oro is free on Sundays.
- July is Colombian school holiday — domestic tourists flood the city. Expect higher prices and busier attractions.
